Holly Knowles is a social worker, therapist and coach with over two decades of work in social services, management, and training. She is a mediator and holistic practitioner who draws from evidence-based practices to help reduce stress, heal relationships, promote recovery, and build resilience. Holly offers confidential services for individuals and couples working with relationship issues, self-esteem and stress.
Holly holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and is registered with the OCSWSSW. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Studies) from Queen’s University. She draws from a range of training and certifications such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, trauma and resiliency, conflict navigation, teamwork, engagement, and leadership.
Holly’s journey throughout her career has informed her practice. Her own experiences of vicarious (secondary) trauma, compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout called on her to find strategies and solutions to stay well. Her yoga, mindfulness practices and love of nature have been instrumental to her wellbeing. She cares deeply for the environment and promotes connection with nature as an integral part of wellness. Her healing journey began out of necessity but is now her inspiration to help others on their own paths to greater insight, joy, and calm. Holly cherishes her spouse, children, family, friends, and goofy chocolate lab, Nala, all of whom helped bring balance and delight to her often-high pressure career.
